About our Firm
Balaban & Schmidt, P.A. has been delivering quality financial services to its clients since 1995. With over seventy years of diversified professional experience, our principals have supported clients traditionally consisting of closely held businesses and their owners, as well as individuals seeking assistance with complex financial and tax-related issues. Our expertise ranges from basic tax management and accounting services to more in-depth services such as audits, financial statements, and financial planning.

Our mission is to help clients maintain financial viability in the present while taking a proactive approach to achieve future goals. This requires open communication, thorough research, and sound analysis to reach an understanding of our clients' needs. Balaban & Schmidt is dedicated to meeting these goals with high standards of excellence and professionalism.

Our Team
Lynn is the firm's tax partner. She has over 40 years of public accounting experience with primary expertise in personal, business, estate taxation and business consulting.
Prior to joining the firm in 1996, she was employed for two years with an international firm in San Francisco and had her own practice in Southern California for over 25 years.
Lynn is a graduate of the University of Florida. She was raised in the panhandle of Florida. She collects clowns, plays bridge and enjoys the beach.

Stan is the firm's accounting and technology partner. He has over 30 years of experience and expertise in numerous industries, primarily accounting, business consulting, computer selection and use, and software support and training. He is a Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor.
Prior to beginning the firm in 1995, he was employed in the auditing department of a national firm for two years and as an auditor for six years with two regional firms.
Stan is a graduate of Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. He was raised on a his parent's farm in northwest Iowa. His outside interests include music, history and sports.

Noreene is the firm’s senior staff accountant. She has over 15 years of public accounting and 5 years of private accounting experience. Her primary expertise is in personal and business taxation, as well as bookkeeping and accounting consulting. She is a Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor.
Prior to joining the firm in 2002, she was employed by other local C.P.A. firms in Florida and Maine.
Noreene was born and raised in Massachusetts and also lived in Maine. She is a graduate of Husson College. Her outside interests include motorcycles, Native American history, gardening and the beach.
